The Berlin Palace Orchestra has been formed exclusively for the concert series at Charlottenburg Palace. All members of the ensemble are highly professional and respected musicians from Berlin showing a deep understanding of late Baroque music and music of the classical period as well as a true passion for its interpretation. Endowed with a truly special feeling for music as well a high level of musical homogeneity, the orchestra presents the most outstanding works of this remarkable era to today’s audience. ProgramThe program includes an exclusive selection of musical highlights from the 17th and 18th centuries: works by composers like the musical genius Johann Sebastian Bach, the highly talented King Frederick II and his court musician Luigi Boccherini as well as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Note: On selected days, the Berlin Palace Concerts take place in other concert halls at Charlottenburg Palace. Concerts in February: Bach at the Prussian CourtIn February, 2010, the guests of the Great Orangery at Charlottenburg Palace are to expect the premiere of a concert dedicated to the masterpieces of Johann Sebastian Bach. Virtuosic compositions from his concertos and secular cantatas will be played. PROGRAMME: February - April, 2010: Bach at the Prussian CourtIn the months of winter, the Berlin Residence Orchestra comes up with concerts in the historic rooms of the Great Orangery already in the afternoon. Sunday Concerts are dedicated to the masterpieces of Johann Sebastian Bach. Virtuosic compositions from his concertos and secular cantatas will be played.
